Belco car break in

Warning to all who park in the long term carpark at Belconnen Labor Club during the day.

My car was broken into yesterday (3 March) and the car radio/cd stolen.

It was only a cheap Kenwood (so the thief is not too bright) but the damage to the dash getting it out is the most annoying as well as completely pulling the door lock out.

I was parked next to the parking pay station at the front of the carpark so the thief was quite brazen.

I locked my keys in my car the other day at a shopping centre and was there for about half an hour trying to break in with blue nylon packing strap and no one even blinked at me. Then I flagged a passer by to help and two of us were at it for another half an hour, still no one queried us. I then started getting desperate and found a rock and tried to smash a window to get in. A few people looked (mainly because of the loud noise) but still no one came to challenge me. Another guy stopped and helped, he went to a nearby shop and got a coathanger and then fashioned a hook out of it and eventually opened the car. At no time did the two guys that helped me ask for any proof that the car I was breaking into was actually mine!

Cars get broken into at this carpark quite often.

Coffin I had my RX7 stolen from my carport whilst I was home in Phillip (they towed it away), only weeks after I’d spent upwards of 4k on the motor. It was recovered in Gungahlin a week later, trashed of course. Despite it being covered in oily fingerprints which were clearly visible to the naked eye, the cops couldn’t have been less interested. I guess they were too busy dealing with all of the rapes & murders that happen in the nation’s capital.

The cops were actually rather helpful, but unfortauntely the forensic value would have been sfa, as myself, my gf and the towie had been inside the car as it was blocking the road. Thankfully its insured for its full value (one of the cleanest S2 rx7’s in town) but the fact its off the road and its going to miss WHEELS 09 in 2.5 weeks time etc.

If i ever find out who has done it, … they will be reamed up the asshole with the broken steering shaft, sideways, without lube!!

Elementary, my dear Watson!

Unfortunately, oily fingerprints on the outside of the vehicle prove nothing at all.

Sorry Mr.Johnny Hopper, it was naive of me to think that maybe a fingerprint might be of use in solving a crime. I feel like a phuckin idiot for even suggesting it. Barnaby I ain’t!

It’s not like I was expecting the AFP’s #1 detective to be assigned the case.

Yeah, because oily fingerprints (probably on the outside of the car) have heaps of forensic value, don’t they? Maybe not.

p1: apparently my anti-theft device couldn’t stop it being towed.

As I said in the Flyball thread,

You should get an anti theft device.

if i could beat, mame, torture car theives I would trust me, and i feel all of your pain.

My newly acquired RX7, which is always garaged at home, or securely in our showroom everynight, I leant to my gf Sunday night as she was off getting some stuff done to it for me on Monday. Parked at her apartment complex in Watson that night it was broken into, and vandalised to the point rendering it undrivable. … didnt take anything except they wanted the car. When they couldnt get it started they proceeded to snap the entire steering wheel clean off the steering column with boss kit and everything and trashed the interior of the car

PFFT – Thieves are everywhere Kizzle.
You would be a 100% ignoramus if you thought otherwise.

Posh, my condolences, I have had several items stolen from my vehicle including all my trade tools, 3 dirty chef jackets, dirty chef pants, stereos, and other miscellaneous items.

Usually stolen whilst relaxing after work, essentially making my work for that night and a few either side free to recoup costs.

Its sh1tty and sucks but its the way it is unfortunately.

Because the entire car would have been stolen.

^^^
Because there wouldn’t be a stereo in the car to start with?

This wouldn’t have happened on the southside(tuggers).
