Liberal leader Zed Seselja is telegraphing his promises to the engineers.

The high and hazy “Infrastructure Canberra” is once again held out as a universal panacea, but he’s also promising:

“We would also inject an extra $125 million to fast-track and upgrade Canberra’s roads, bringing the total roads and parking capital works budget to $700 million.

Interesting read in the Canberra times related to this where the libs intent to duplicate Horse Park Drive, but have not announced how much they think it will cost because it’s going to tender so they don’t want to tip the tenders off to how much money they have. How they will then cost and budget for that is another question of course.

Must admit that’s the first time I’ve hear that excuse, maybe the current government if they get back in could try that one on, not announce the proposed budget for any capital project to keep costs down. Though no doubt if they did that and the libs remain in opposition (which I sincerely hope is the case) then they would put in a motion of no confidence for misleading the assembly.

Besides I would have thought the first road needing duplication in Gungahlin would be Gundaroo Drive through to Gininderra Drive or at the very very least around the town centre.
