Stonefest is back for 2009!

The festival that celebrated it’s 40th anniversary last year is back again on October 31st 2009.

The lineup has been revealed, but can’t actually see it on the official website yet.

Triple J News has the lineup here.

All local [National] acts so far:

The Living End, Birds of Tokyo, Josh Pyke, Frenzal Rhomb, British India, Children Collide, Urthboy, MM9, Jericco and Ashleigh Mannix.

I am sure more will be announced down the track.

Tickets on sale next Monday.

In other music news, it appears that Wolfmother will be skipping Canberra on their ‘national’ tour later in the year. Shame. I was hoping to catch their new material and new 2/3rds of a band.

oh boo. I’m getting married on that day.

I sure hope it’s a Halloween themed wedding…

Hell yeah 😉

Pretty uninspiring bill. And only one day?

It doesn’t make money, you couldn’t expect more from a uni that can’t make a bar on campus profitable.

The Living End and Frenzal Rhomb, heck YES!

Everyone else can die in a fire…

I cannot wait for Birds of Tokyo – they rock!! Don’know if I can wait that long though…may end up going to Penriff to catch them (yes, that’s right people – that is Penriff wif two fs)

ahhh….The Living End, Frenzal Rhomb…

I was seeing them at unibar 8 years ago when ska was big. It’s a shame they are still the headline acts as I never liked them then and they still churn out the same junk.

Josh Pyke on the other hand is awesome!

One word. Frenzel Rhomb. OK That’s two words, but I haven’t seen them since I was a young ‘un…ahhh memories of drinking way too much and crowd surfing…or should that be slight lack of memories. They haven’t been to Canberra for as long as I’ve been here.

I think that looks like a pretty cool lineup and on a Staurday too. Count me in.
(Also worth noting Art Vs. Science is on the bill, but not listed on the JJJ Website..)

When I was at CCAE in 1986 we had a full week of festivities called Stone Week.

Or convince my guests that my reception *is* in fact at Stonefest?

You could save yourself some cash by buying them tickets but getting them to buy their own beer and corndogs.
