The Canberra City Band perform at Floriade 2009

What: CANBERRA – The Canberra City Band play for all at Floriade and the Nara Candle Festival for 2009.

Where: Floriade – Commonwealth Park Gardens from 9:00-11:00am and Nara Candle Festival – Canberra Nara Park; Lennox Gardens, Yarralumla from 3:00pm.

When: Saturday 26th September 2009

The Canberra City Band, recently being awarded 1st place in the Australian National Eisteddfod, will be performing on Saturday 26th September at the Floriade for all to enjoy. The performance will be from 9:00-11:00am in the Commonwealth Park Gardens. With new Musical Director Major Geoff Grey of the RMC, the Canberra City Band has built its musical repertoire to include many well known tunes including Over the Rainbow and Malaguena. This is also an opportunity to enjoy some classic Gershwin tunes such as Embraceable You and How Long has this Been Going On featuring Sarah Byrne on vocals. A busy day it will be for the band members as they will also be performing to open the Nara Candle Festival at 3:00pm for anyone that cannot attend the morning performance at the Floriade grounds.
