A 13-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a truck at the corner of Hardwick Crescent and Flack Street near Kingsford Smith School in Holt at around 8.30am this morning.

The ACT Ambulance Service was alerted to the incident just after 8.30am. The boy was assessed at the scene by intensive care paramedics before being taken to The Canberra Hospital in a stable condition with a fractured arm and facial injuries.

Police are investigating the accident, which comes almost exactly a year after another 13-year-old boy was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle outside Kingsford Smith School. In that incident, at around 8.55am on July 30, 2015, The Canberra Times reports a boy was struck by a black SUV driven by a woman with brown hair and dressed in business attire who stopped briefly before leaving the scene without providing her details.
