storm front

Something very close to a supercell thunderstorm rolled right over Canberra yesterday afternoon.

Nick took the pic above but we’ve had more from other readers of the magnificent skies this tight weather system produced.

Good snaps. I was in the Chisholm Viking club restoring lost fluid , when it belted down about 6.30. But down the road at Mawson, where the official Met site is located, just 2 mills recorded. Very localised indeed.

Mawson or Monash?

On the northside in Fraser we had howling winds, torrential rain and even hail. It looked like we had snowdrifts in the yard after the worst of the storm had passed over.

Nothing in Kambah yesterday
