Police chief launches 4WD convoy

By 6 February, 2006 4

In a belatedly published press release, ACT police chief Audrey Fagan explained why I saw large numbers of four-wheel drives on Northbourne Avenue when peering out a shower window earlyish Saturday morning.

Apparently this noisy parade was part of a biannual convoy from Canberra to Queanbeyan which raises awareness of recreational four wheel driving and responsible driving. The convoy is also used to raise funds for charity.

Chief Police Officer Fagan launched the convoy, welcoming participants and enthusing about the charity work done by the 4WD clubs involved.

I’m sure this charity work is all very worthy and I do not want to detract from its encouragement, but what on earth was CPO Fagan launching this event? Anyone know what kind of car Audrey drives?
