ABC has the full list – I’m sure it will invoke plenty of comment.

The name of the game is spot the familiar name – stars, journos get bonus points.

I see Marieke Hardy got a gong. So too Goulburn grazier Charlie Prell in the rural group.

The media will be in clover, lots of people to give quoteable quotes, things to beat up. I do hope (and hoped when they first announced this) that the gov’t had ensured there was enough accommodation for all the people, and the media, and the hangers-on. I expect, after the call for volunteers to take notes, they’ll be asking us to billet people!

I am astonished that my name is not on this list.

ros has bought a shiny new white board just for the occasion…

and yup, it does seem rather like krudd-squad – why in heavens name is ross garnaut included when the gov’t has commissioned him to give his ideas anyway? isn’t this a waste of a space that one of the seven thousand who missed out might have snavelled?

will he pay for his own way up from sunny melbourne, or will it be part of his funded gig’s travel, i wonder…

452 women (I assumed the names I didn’t recognise as female were male though).

Looks like Ros Kelly will be working on “Population, Sustainability, Climate Change and Water.” Here’s hoping she’s not the one taking the notes…

Good effort for the ACT – 8.4% of the participants, yet only 1.6% of the total national population. The only other area with a greater percentage of participants than population is NT with 3.2% of participants and 1% of population.

I’m sure the states will claim we’ve got so many because it’s on a “pay your own way” basis.
