5 aggravated burglaries in 5 hours in Canberra's north

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to five aggravated burglaries in Weetangera, Hawker and Aranda on Saturday morning (1 August).

Between the hours of 2am and 6.30am, offenders entered five homes across McLachlan Crescent in Weetangera, Elsey Street and Anningie Place in Hawker and Noala Street in Aranda and stole property while the occupants were at home.

Property stolen from the homes included phones and iPads, wallets, keys, garage remote controls, jewellery, laptops and a Ford Territory (pictured) stolen from the property in Elsey Street Hawker.

About 11am on Saturday police located the stolen Ford Territory in Aranda. The vehicle had sustained extensive damage and contained items of stolen property.

ACT Policing investigations attended each scene and AFP Forensic Services examined the stolen vehicle. Police believe the incidents are linked and more than one offender was involved.

Investigations are ongoing and are urging anyone who may have witnessed the aggravated burglaries or any suspicious between 2am and 6.30am on Saturday in Weetangera, Hawker and Aranda to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au.
