When I park in Anketell St outside the Tuggeranong Hyperdome in the short stay area – just next to dear Annette’s office – the 5 minute parking spots are invariably full. But there are generally vacant spots in the 15 minute parking section.
Why? I just don’t get it. Are those of us who use the 15 minute spots more civic minded and so leave before our time expires, while those in the 5 minute spots overstay?
Any chance of money for a Ph D? Maybe one has already been done.
I’m guessing the 5 minute spots are closer. Probably just a case of running the risk of a ticket just to be lazy and walk less.
PhD please.
I get it but need additional funding to allow me to release the details.
No, they are in fact part of the same street, opposite the entrances to the Hyperdome. There are only about 7 spots in each running along the side of the footpath.
I’ve got a bee in my bonnet (bad pun – hat’s off to that?) because I park there every day after aquarobics and it puzzles me.
(A bad pun on a bad pun is …??)
Additional funding eh? How about I give you the net earnings from my blog for December? $7.82 less expenses – union dues, management fees, depreciation, paper, newspapers. Does that mean you owe me?
No.
slander detector on high alert.
ooh, it just went away (ignore my comment, then…)
Just a feeble attack from one of our loonies. Contained and eradicated in seconds.
Wow! And I thought I had that role earmarked to myself!
The 15 mins are just a plot by the Capitalist operators of the Hyperdome to get you to stay longer. The fact that these spaces are empty shows that the clever Socialists won’t be fooled by their trickery.
Dernit, I hate missing stuff! My womanly curiousity goes into overdrive … sometimes even hyperdrive or warp drive.
That loonie wasn’t the troll known as proofpositive was it?
Back on topic please people.
V twin venom you say:
‘The 15 mins are just a plot by the Capitalist operators of the Hyperdome to get you to stay longer. The fact that these spaces are empty shows that the clever Socialists won’t be fooled by their trickery.’
Ah, thanks. I guess I’m not one of the clever ones then.
At least I knew it couldn’t be a communist plot. That’s in Highgate Cemetery.
Explanation is simple – no PhD required, two words only … ‘Lazy bogans’.
Seriously, if everyone obeyed the law the 5 minute parks would always be empty. What can anyone get done in just 5 minutes. Possibly you could get some money from a very close ATM but even that would be pushing it.
This 5 minute parking is just asking people to break the law.
Look on the Window do they have a disabled card? They will park as close as possible.
