Vicki Dunne’s pursuit of Joy Burch continues this morning with an examination of the service providers waiting to be paid for their important work with vulnerable children:
“Joy Burch wrote to me asking for details about my comments about her Directorate’s payment issues, instead of seeking this basic information from the Directorate itself,” Mrs Dunne said today.
“Given the Public Advocate identified at least one provider which hadn’t been paid, I asked the Minister to release a redacted list of her Directorate’s outstanding payments.
“The listing shows her Directorate collectively owes $94,858 to service providers, with one still waiting after almost two years.
“The highest overdue payment is more than $55,000, which the provider has been waiting more than two months for.
“On average, Joy Burch’s Directorate owes around $1000 to each provider, with an average wait time of 65 days.
