The M16 Artspace in Fyshwick (oddly enough at 16 Mildura St) is having an interesting exhibition through to 12 April.

This from the blurb:

Presenting 70 pieces selected from the creative work of the Canberra Art Workshop’s 230 members, this exhibition is the first, and largest, in M16’s 2009 Community Workshop exhibition program. Now in its 61st year, Canberra Art Workshop (CAW) is also the oldest of the three community workshops housed at M16 (alongside studioMAP, for children and teenagers, and Hands On Studio, a Centacare-supported program for people with disabilities).

CAW members share their skills and support each other through studio workshops in life drawing, portraiture, printmaking and other disciplines, as well as in field trips and expeditions. CAW is a diverse, talented and productive group of artists who continue to nurture anddevelop a long tradition of community-based art practice in Canberra. This year, the Workshop presents “70 views of our world” – as seen, as experienced, as thought about, and as it might be.

The Canberra Art Workshop exhibition is sponsored by Eckersley’s art store.
