With “NoWaste 2010” abandoned in the face of impending reality a new purpose has been found for the promotional material (which will at least reduce waste).

Simon Corbell has announced an “ACT NOWaste Network”, sometimes referred to in the same media release as the “ACTNow Waste Network”.

The network provides a means for the business and office communities to access more information on waste management, to communicate to others how they are trying to reduce their waste and to simply swap ideas.

For some organisations, the network will allow them to improve systems already in place but for others it may provide them with guidance on how they can initiate measures to reduce waste.

“In exchange for sharing their waste management experiences, the ACTNow Waste Network will provide public recognition for the efforts of those involved,” Mr Corbell said.

Honestly, why do they bother. Unless you can convince the big grocery chains to stop wrapping all their meat and fresh goods up in huge lengths of cling wrap and somehow swap all plastic packaging for recyclable materials, it aint gunna happen.

ACT Waste NOW?
OK. If they insist.
