With truffle fever sweeping Canberra here’s a chance to find out what all the fuss is about.
Ainslie’s Pulp Kitchen is doing an intriguing truffle tasting menu on Wednesdays while the tuberis melanosporum supplies hold out.
At $120 each including the recommended wine selection it’s not exactly cheap.
But I imagine you get what you pay for.
Be sure to book if you want to be a part of it.

$120 dollars each with wine matching is a pretty good price. Looking at that menu it looks like a degustation dinner with truffles as the theme.
Mrs Danman and I have paid +120 several times for 3 courses, wine, aperetif’s and coffee.
I’d agree with Danman – in fact, i’d say it was bargain. You’d probably pay at least twice that for the same quality food/wine at a Sydney restaurant.
And this raises the question… what other restaurants in Canberra offer a tasting menu with wine pairings?
Mezzalira Ristorante in the Melbourne Building (City) do a great five course tasting menu matched with local wines for around $100 – I reckon it is very good value.
Received this update a couple of days ago:
Anise Truffle Dinners, 3-4 weeks from 20 June, four course dinner at Anise featuring local truffles. $90 dinner only, $125 with wines. A la carte menu also be available. Bookings essential.
rubicon will happily match wines for your meals or even provide a degustation by request. i’ve enjoyed impromptu degustation with a choice of several courses from their entree list and had some wines to match. the sommelier is very good – yum.
Guys you’re offtopic.
If you want to start a discussion about tasting menus generally then post a new story please.
Cheers.
