iPhone wankers enthusiasts may be interested in taking a look at buUuk, an eatery and bar review application for iPhone and Android which has pretty good coverage of the Canberra region.* Ratings are based on an average of how many people like a place (100% nice), kinda like it (50%), or don’t like it at all (0%) and converted to stars. It can tell you what the most highly rated places are (although you knew it was going to be Sammy’s anyway), the nearest to you at the moment (shows in a list, map or in Augmented Reality), and you can view photos and reviews or add your own (with an option to spam your Twitter or Facebook friends each time you do).
* I’m not affiliated with buUuk, just an iPhone (cough) enthusiast who likes it and wishes they had more reviews and ratings up. Also, the creators send super-nice emails whenever I submit a location they’ve missed.
Oh dear….. half a dollar says that Canberra gets so many bad reviews that it gets black-listed.
I’m surprised RA has not been keel hauled and strapped to the judicial pillory for it own review thread.
Interesting but a little outdated – still lists Toast and Cafe Della Piazza (which someone reviewed 57 days ago?)
I wonder if it’s as good a read as the NSW Food Watch app, which names and shames all the places in NSW (including Queanbeyan) that have been fined by the NSW Food Authority…
There’s a link on the bottom of each entry to report dead restaurants – it’s in the scrollable bar. I guess they got some of their initial load of place from old websites or something.
Yeah, reported both as closed in the comments and got a nice message back from BuUuk by days end thanking me for the info.
The Augmented Reality feature is nice as well (though hidden away a little)
