Robbing Peter to pay Paul for the Centenary

The Canberra Centennial site is running a “share your ideas” competition.

Sadly a media release from last week indicates today is the last chance to get your ideas in.

But I have to say I was a little bit intrigued by the sponsors list. The Privileges Card people and the CPS Credit Union are free to spend their own money as they like.

But isn’t TransACT/ActewAGL part government owned with a friendly board? And isn’t Canberra Connect just a government services portal? Wouldn’t it be a better use of our money to fund the competition directly?

(here’s the sponsors roll just in case something happens to it)
