cotter dam expansion

“Kazza the blank one” was out at the Cotter Dam Expansion open day yesterday. Aside from a pile of photos (slideshow below) she sent this note:

braved the wind and rain this morning to get some pics of the open day.
not the greatest set of pics ever, but what can you do with such crappy weather heh
had to wait about half an hour at 10am to get on one of the minibuses.

I went along to this, but got there at about 12:30.
By that time we weren’t actually allowed off the bus – apparently this was due to “health and safety concerns” because the site was pretty muddy by that stage.
Interesting all the same.

Thanks for posting pics. With a bit more notice I would have liked to have gone too.

Thanks for the pics. I’d like to tag along to one of these I reckon. Best pay attention next time there is one on.

Let’s hope they give us a bit more notice next time they have an open day – I’d have loved to have been able to go but Mrs Swaggie invited us all to a BBQ (yes I know, it poured down)

I went to this too, was possibly on the same bus as OP! It was a very interesting tour with the ACTEWAGL guy giving a fascinating explanation of what all the machinery was and what it did. They are working literally around the clock (the site is running 24/7) to complete the dam by Dec 12 2011.

Apparently they plan more open days including a night one which the ACTEW guy recomended highly.
