1. There’s a bushwalker missing in the Orroral Valley since yesterday afternoon:

The 31-year-old Macarthur woman was reported missing around 10:40pm yesterday after she went bushwalking around 8am (September 3).

The car the woman was driving, a silver Honda CRV, was located in an Orroral Valley car park in Namadgi National Park, around 25kms south of Tharwa. A bush walker sign-in book indicates the missing woman embarked on her hike but had not returned.

The woman is described as having a fair complexion, a small build, long dark brown hair, and is believed to be wearing dark blue wet weather clothing.

She is described as a novice bushwalker and is not believed to be equipped with provisions for an overnight trip. Due to cold weather conditions and the difficult and demanding terrain, there are concerns for the safety and welfare of the missing woman.

A rural patrol and SRS have been deployed to search for the woman.

Police would urge anyone who may have seen a woman walking alone in the Nursery Swamp car park area in Namadgi National Park yesterday (September 3) to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
