With the mercury stuck in the high 30s and new slides at Jamo Peter Gray has sent in what he’s been up to with his new GoPro:
The kids and I visit Canberra’s Big Splash… but it’s mostly me you’ll see as I didn’t want to lose the camera – I lost my sunglasses by being too excited and forgetting I was wearing them on my first ride down. When I hit the water, they were swallowed and never came up, RIP my Dirty Dogs… lot’s of fun in the hot, hot, sun – enjoy the summer Australia!
Where are the new slides!? The video only has the old ones in it – I was looking forward to seeing what they look like.
Not finished yet.
Unbelievable. I know they had issues fitting them in, and according to their (frankly, terrible) website the twister is now open, but who knows when that actually happened.

That place is a damm expensive day out if you want to take the family.
I simply cannot justify it myself.
I’m with you on this one. They basically have no children’s prices – if they’re tall enough to ride the slides, they pay an adult price. So if you had mum, dad and two kids who could all ride slides, you’re looking at $100 just to get in. As a comparison, the same family at Wet & Wild on the Gold Coast – with at least 5 or 6 times the rides – would be $190. And if they’re charging those prices even before all their new stuff is open, it’s pretty terrible value.
Compare what you get for your money at Big Splash as a family, compared to Dickson Pool, with their water play area.

Of course it’s expensive, it’s a mini theme park and Canberra’s lucky to have it. A lot of cities much bigger than Canberra have nothing like it.
Anything that gets the kids out and running around is OK by me.
By the way, awesome clip!!
Yeah but it wasn’t when I was a kid. I remember prices jumping when I was a teenager in the 90s but now it just seems ridiculous?? What happened? Insurance?

Seems the same old place as when I was a kid.
Go pro, a genuine technological wonder. Nice way to show one off.
Btw, dubstep is god damn bad but that track is even worse than normal.
