Sultan’s Turkish Pide Gungahlin seems to have seen better days.
James sent this in:
An employee was roaming around outside when I took these. He was very keen to make sure I was aware this was as a result of “minor structural issues”. A jack hammer was being used inside to tear up the tiled floor in an effort to correct said issues.
Seen a prohibition notice? Send it in!

The lettering on the permanent sign is wonderful; particularly the font used for Sultan*s.
(Is font the right word for a sign?)
I walked past this morning and got a good chuckle. I notice when it’s not “closed for maintenance” there’s always a steady stream of customers.
Their kebabs and overall service has been a bit down lately.. last time we had Kebabs I vowed that I woudn’t be back for a long while. They used to be awesome, but now seems to be potasium in a roll..
Not as good as yarralumla but still damn good.
Was sad when I saw this on My Gungahlin‘s Facebook feed, as my wife and I love the place and were regular customers. Kebabs were always best when done as shish rather than shaved meat.
Some of the comments in there raised an eyebrow – though I had also seen them use a mop to clean the pide oven, I assumed it was one that was used only for that purpose.
Jackhammer sounds like some serious plumbing works?
Maybe Sultan*s will swing?

The first rule of Yarralumla Turkish is you do NOT tell the rest of bloody Canberra about Yarralumla Turkish. The lines are bad enough already.

Pretty sure everyone already knows. Just pick your time. I eat early during the week if I am in the area(this includes around a 20 km radius lol) for lunch and get dinner early if we get it for Friday dinner.
a customer got stabbed in the buttocks..
