A restaurant review- McDonalds

Yesterday morning on the way to work after having no time for breakfast, I found myself driving into unfamiliar territory- the McDonalds drive through.

Let me firstly start off by saying the last time I had McDonalds, soft serves were only 30 c (who pays 50 c for a scoop of pig fat in a cone ) and the only salad you got was the lettuce on your big Mac.

But as As I viewed the menu much to my suprise I noticed things had changed dramatically from the days of a cheeseburger and fries. They now do Salads, cereal, and even fruit and yogurt.

So I thought I would be adventurous and go for an egg and bacon “ deli choice” roll.
22 grams of fat 500 calories later (yes they even tell you the nutritional information on the packet) I must say it was quite delicious, with generous amounts of bacon and well-cooked egg. The only thing I could fault was the bbq sauce they smothered all over it, I found it was a little strong for first thing in the morning. The cappuccino wasn’t too bad either.

And to think I had been avoiding McDonalds for all these years!

rotten ronnies should be boycotted on ideological grounds.

go to the local fish and chip shop and buy a burger.

dont get sucked in by advertising. the only reason they have salads is so mothers can take their kids there and buy them all happy meals while she has a salad and steals the kids fries.

you have a point colsim, perhaps no dressing would be wise?

Well when the leave the fat content of the dressing out, it probably does bring it down Lenny 🙂

I would like the re phrase the heading
” A fast food outlet review- Mcdonalds”

I think the food at breakfast is ok when you’re travelling – its cheap, you know what you’re getting, there’s caffeine and you can read the papers for free. The bacon and egg rolls they have now are quite nice.

When you’re on the road the breakfast is OK (in comparison) and the dunnies are usually clean.

I like the chicken salads they have there now. but theyre chicken roll thing was really gross (cant remember what it was called but it had bacon and overcooked chicken – only mcdonalds would put extra bacon on something that was supposed to be healthy)

Salads, Roast Chicken- 6.6 grams of fat
Salads, crispy cut chicken- 10.6 grams of fat
Big mac- 25 grams of fat
END!

I read that one of the new healthy chicken salads actually has more fat than the big mac.

It’s a greenwash, nothing more, nothing less.

(And the new improved product line is still only 2% of business anyways)

Sorry but McDonalds (and a few others) have lost me for life…even if they reinvent themselves as Manuka restaurants.

That was the best ‘foodies’ review I’ve seen here so far – I’m off to McCafer to check out the cupcakes and blend 43 er, expresso.

Well atleast they are trying, which is more than i can say for hungary jacks

If your gonna go chain food smudge, i’ll go hungry Jacks any day. But only on the way to Sydney.

There’s enough Thai and Indian bain maree food around to settle the hunger without having to experience the elongated constipation that McD’s and HJ’s may have you being sentenced with enduring.

My girlfriend says that Mc Donalds claim to be healthy but all of it’s food will still make you fat.

As far as i’m concerned, they’ve had their day with impressing my taste buds. That was when i was 17 and drunk.

They are re-inventing themselves, they had to in order to survive.

My dad, who terms the place “Muck Donalds” has never eaten there for easily 20 years. When I was visiting them in Melbourne over Christmas, I got everyone some lunch – deli choice rolls. Dad could not believe it was from the same place.

He’s still adamant about calling them that, but I do believe quietly that he views em differently now!

PS I reckon you can’t beat a greasy quarter pounder after a decent drinking session 🙂
