Apparently business is bad. If you’re a business owner then you may want to check this out.

Also there’s a free breakfast, so if your business is really not doing great this may help make some ends meet.

Canberra businesses are doing it tough, and are likely to do it tough for some time. Unfortunately, there is an alarming disconnect between what the Chamber is seeing every day and recent reports suggesting the ACT economy is performing strongly.

Today, Canberra has the lowest business survival rate in the nation; it has seen a 40% increase in business insolvencies in the last 12 months; and we are receiving many calls from business owners seeking advice on downsizing.

The Chamber is hosting a business crisis summit to hear first-hand about the challenges local businesses are facing; and what can be done working together to fix the situation.

The Chamber’s Business Crisis Summit will provide businesses with the chance to hear from experts across a range of business areas, including workplace law, economics, and insolvency.

Importantly, this is a chance for the ACT and region business community to have their voice heard.

We urge business; small and large to attend this important meeting as together we can build a stronger voice for business and ensure that local businesses thrive.

Further information will be available in Monday’s edition of The Canberra Times.
