Member for Canberra Gai Brodtmann MP has congratulated four Canberra employers who were recognised for their exceptional support of Australian Defence Force Reservists at the ACT Employer Support Awards overnight.
The Erindale Pharmacy, Focus ACT, Communities at Work and the Canberra Hospital were the winners of the four categories of awards.
Ms Brodtmann thanked the winners for the outstanding support they have provided to employees who choose to serve in the Reserves.
“Defence Reserves simply couldn’t exist without the support of employers,” Ms Brodtmann said.
“The four Canberra employers recognised at the awards have shown exceptional and ongoing support to their Reservist employees.
“These employers know that the Reservist experience provides their employees with leadership, problem solving and decision making skills that are transferrable back into the workplace.”
The Employer Support Awards acknowledge the contributions made by employers of Reservists.
