An interesting announcement out of ANU on their new $2 million scholarship program with our lords of power and water:

The partnership will see undergraduate scholarships offered from the first semester 2009 across a range of disciplines including engineering, IT, finance and economics. In semester one 2010, the scholarship program will be extended to postgraduate study and research.

“The scholarships this partnership provides will be highly-sought after by students. That’s good news for our students, but it also means that ACTEW and ActewAGL are securing a pool of talented graduates.

“…across a range of disciplines including engineering, IT, finance and economics.”

But nothing offered for environmental management students! Typical blind corporate outlook focused on economics and engineering rather than looking at the big picture of proper environmental and social management.

Oh goody. I bet our electricity and water bills will go up to cover this.
