By law, all taxis should really have to be fitted with cameras.
Surely the driver got the number plate?

Yes, on the inside, aimed at the passengers. What point are you trying to make?
DrKoresh said :
Don’t they already have them on the inside at the passengers? They need them also facing out, not only for case like this but also to stop taxi drivers from being such bell ends on the road.
The cabbie probably just stopped for no apparent reason and got hit up the arse . Ethnic drivers do it all the time

They come from the subcontinent and all look the same so what use will it be?
Can anyone give me a tual stats on taxi driver ethnic percentage against angelos and some hard facts about why ethnics are supposedly bad drivers or are all y’all being racists?

scroll down about 30mm to Executive Summary .
estimated 2 out of 3 taxi drivers are ethnics.
Comic_and_Gamer_Nerd said :
I know nothing whatsoever about the skills of Italian taxi drivers or “angelos” as you like to call them.
Regarding ethnics being bad drivers, I suggest you you tube (nasty stutter I have there) videos of traffic in India (or Finland or Luxembourg) so that ou can make your own mind up about that.
On a second look there is more breakdown graphs as you scroll down.
Biggest ethnic group is Indians and they have the worst road death toll than anywhere else in the world . Average17 road deaths an hour or nearly 200,000 deaths a year.
so I would say Indians are not good drivers.
Wow guys, way to take into account that 1: this is about the country Australia and 2: we have road rules, regulations and licenses.
Any actual scientific proof FROM AUSTRALIA?
Sounds like a case of tailgaiting.
I have only had two serious crashes in over 38 years of driving, in seven different countries. Both involved ACT taxi drivers, both were their admitted fault.

Just because we live in a first world country doesn’t mean we get first world drivers.
No screen shot or source, just an observation while driving on our multicultural streets and tree lined avenues…

Can you post screenshots of said videos?

Not to gloat, but unmarked cop car in my case…
Top that?
Pork Hunt said :
Yeah but using the same logic as you and gazket, I could say lots of peeps in afrika have aids so that = all black peeps in australa have aids.
Jivrashia said :
Marked cop car – 4×4 Patrol, wrote off both cars…do I win?
gazket said :
Any driver is entitled to stop for whatever reason they see fit, even if it appears to others there is no reason. It’s up to the driver behind to be in a position to react in time.
Comic_and_Gamer_Nerd said :
I can’t see if a peeps has aids or not but I can see the way they drive. You are the logic deficient one.
Pork Hunt said :
Bad driving in India= Bad taxi drivers in Australia? In the words of an Australian you presumably idolise; “Please, explain?”
Pork Hunt said :
Indeed and may i reiterate, yet again, that the calibre of taxi drivers in recent years can only be described as atrocious.
Ooh! A racism bandwagon!
Those South Indians are nuts! They think fish curry is a good idea and make totally bizarre music videos!! Did you see Prabu Deva steal that womens bus in Urvasi Urvasi??? Dude doesn’t take the road seriously one bit!!!
The spice road is paved with the bones of people mad enough to let their driver onto it.
Make sure your cabbie is from the civilised North where the climate is milder and the tempers are cooler.
Comic_and_Gamer_Nerd said :
Sorry, I thought you meant the ones on the inside. A camera on the bonnet I could maybe see, but 360* footage is a bit much to ask, I imagine. Never mind the storage space all that footage would require.
Pork Hunt said :
My logic is flawless

Bingo.
You run up my arse, it’s your fault – full stop.

Comic person, you are attempting to introduce logic and reason into a thread on RA. Stop it immediately or you’ll go blind. I have taken to wearing stronger spectacles since I’ve started commenting and it’s only downhill from here…
BINGO – Taxi today, 5:30PM, straight dual lane road [William Hovell Dr east bound], couldn’t keep his vehicle in the right hand lane and drifted over enough that I could have touched his mirror from my driver’s seat. How hard is it for [ethnic] drivers to keep their vehicle between the lane markers?? Lucky I noticed in time and veered left to avoid contact. He wasn’t on mobile phone, not playing with the meter or anything, just wandering all over the road like the steering wheel had come loose or something. Then sped up and continued to do what everyone else does and drive 20km/h over the roadwork speed limit…….
