New high performance team wear for cricket clubs - Steve Waugh & ONTHEGO Sports

Adios WIN ACT nightly news team

By jayskette - 1 June 2013 16

Seeing this article in the Canberra Times prompted me to post here.

I don’t even watch WIN normally (nor sports in the news), but when I first moved to ACT and saw Danielle Post and Greg Thomson presenting their nightly news I am astounded by how refreshing honest and friendly they are, and have much praise for their fair and extensive sports coverage.

I swear they are the only news team that presents local as well as interstate/international, male/female, junior/senior sports news equally and without bias.

Both presenters are able to report the weather and unfamiliar segments at last minute’s notice – both will go very far and I will miss them!

What’s Your opinion?

Not sure why the CT article omits mention of it, but Post is the News Director for Win in Canberra, in addition to being the evening presenter so this is a bigger deal than just losing some on-air talent.

Win News was in the pits for a long time (largely thanks to a Jorian G I suspect), while I wouldn’t rank local media that highly, Win certainly did clean up its act in the past couple of years and both Post and Thomson have done a good job with limited resources. The stuffed up live cross on C100 and a couple of personal experiences recently demonstrated the limits of the company’s capacity so not an easy job.

The question isn’t just who’s going to take over reading, but who’s going to take over running the place?

I wonder if Mr “Mrs Palmer” Gillespie had anything to do with Danielle Post leaving Canberra?

Maybe if Mr Gillespie’s Mrs Palmer is safely incased in an ACT illegal plastic bag, then things might be alright?

You know, I think that reminds me of something. Or someone. But that’s just my opinion.

I am so confused, I thought Palmer was something to do with Darlo, and Underbelly, and all that choice stuff.
