Adventure Racing hits Canberra this weekend

This Saturday Adventure Racing comes to town with the iAdventure Adventure Race down near the Cotter.

Making use of natures obstacles, adventure racing is a little more mentally stimulating than most obstacle events, with team work and navigation forming the founding principles of this style of event, while teams run (or walk), ride and tube around a top-secret course that is only revealed 1 hour prior to race start.

While most events you’ll participate in are along a fixed course, with little to no thought going into where you need to go, the iAdventure adventure race is all about your ability to pick the right course and avoid any nasties along the way. There will be blackberry bush, steep ravines, rocky creek beds and plenty of other man-made obstacles to contend with. All of this coupled with what has been described as a “gentle ride” down the river on an inner tube.

iAdventure have offered up two discount entries to readers of the RiotACT, to come and try their first Adventure Race. Enter the code ‘riotact1’ at the checkout to get your team entry for just $150, which is a saving of $40. For more information or to enter, head along to www.iadventure.com.au

Entries close this Tuesday night.
