A 41-year-old Ainslie woman was arrested by ACT Policing yesterday afternoon (Sunday, May 29) for drink driving after being detected with an alcohol content more than five times over the legal limit.

Around 3.30pm police intercepted a Mitsubishi Magna on Gooreen Street, Braddon, after the driver allegedly failed to stop at a red light on Limestone Avenue. The female driver underwent a roadside screening test which returned a positive result. She was taken to the City Police Station for a breath analysis.

The woman was found to have an Alcohol Content (AC) of 0.292 which is more than five times the 0.05 limit for a full licence holder. Due to the high level of alcohol in the woman’s body, her ACT driver’s licence was immediately suspended.

The woman will be summonsed to appear at the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.

Nice to have the cops there before this woman injured or killed someone. Regardless of whether she was a mum on her way to pickup the kids from school – there are an awful lot of children around at that time of the afternoon, and this was probably a disaster waiting to happen.

Proud achievement! Is there a trophy for DUI of the month/year? I’m thinking something like a bonus 12 months on top of their license suspension.

She may well have been on the way to or from school for the kids anyway!

Schools operate on Sundays now do they? hmm….

2/10 for analysis guys. She is a woman, driving at 3.30 pm. Therefore, you just know that she is one of those drunken school pick up mothers (their fathers being automatically excluded because they are doing important things at work).

I hate these mongrels with a passion.

Way to go, lady! I’m sure the kids will be ever so proud of mom. Perhaps they could take you to ‘show and tell’ at school next time its on?
