A 22-year-old man has been charged with attempted robbery and theft following a successful extradition from NSW by ACT Policing yesterday (Tuesday, June 25).

The man was on bail for a robbery at the Dickson Coles Express service station on February 25, 2013. He failed to appear at ACT Magistrates Court on the stipulated date to face the charges, and a First Instance Warrant was issued.

It is alleged the man entered the store and threatened staff, demanding cash. He left after taking property and was arrested at a residence in Lyneham a short time later.

Yesterday afternoon, New South Wales police arrested the man in Wagga Wagga. He appeared before the Wagga Wagga Local Court where he was ordered into the custody of ACT Police by the Magistrate.

ACT Policing officers from Gungahlin station conveyed the man to the ACT Watch House. He will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning. Police will oppose bail.
