Chief Minister Katy Gallagher has announced she’s got her budget through the Legislative Assembly and is turning over Treasury to Andrew Barr.

The Chief Minister’s responsibilities as Treasury were formally passed to Deputy Chief Minister, Andrew Barr at Midnight, and followed with the passage of the Appropriation Bill 2011-12, supported by the Greens, and voted against by the Canberra Liberals.

Hopefully the handover will slow down the construction of the most expensive infrastructure investment in the history of the ACT Legislative Assembly – a new home for our over sized public service. After the 2012 un-election 17 new people could come in and see what a crazy idea this is.

Stand by for the (proposed) stadium roof levy and new (non-negotiable) Legislative Assembly buiding levy, funding of a Canberra based AFL team and A-League soccer team (have I left anything else out?)

Will the replacement for the failed Enlighten festival be a gay mardi gras funded by ACT ratepayers?

From the sublime to the ridiculous.
