The Anne Edgeworth Writers Award is a new grant commemorating the late Anne Edgeworth, designed to assist young writers in improving their craft.

The Anne Edgeworth Writers’ Award will support specific writing projects proposed by successful applicants. The annual award of up to $5,000 can be used for any purpose that furthers recipients’ education in their chosen field of literature under the supervision and administration of the ACT Writers Centre. The award can be made for any genre of creative writing including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, screen- and play-writing.

In 2013 applicants’ expressions of interest should be submitted to the ACT Writers Centre by close of business on Friday 6 September; presentations to the judging panel by short-listed applicants are scheduled for Saturday 2 November. Full details of the Anne Edgeworth Writers’ Award including an application form are available on the ACT Writers Centre website at www.actwriters.org.au.
