Here’s a piece of genius from Katy Gallagher’s office.
It’s a grand announcement of “an initiative to assist the growth of philanthropy in the ACT”.
Never mind that Government’s too often turn to private giving for things they really should be doing right themselves. What do you suppose this magnificent initiative is?
- The website at www.philanthropy.act.gov.au brings together information and resources for individuals and organisations wishing to assist charities and non-profit organisations.
Only if you go look at the announcement the link to the website turns out to be a mailto for philanthropy@act.gov.au.
That’s OK we can cut and paste with the best of them. And then it turns out that www.philanthropy.act.gov.au is just an alias for http://www.grants.act.gov.au/philanthropy.
I’ve heard of politicians turning up for the opening of an envelope but announcing an alias for a web-page?
And what’s on the web page? A small selection of the bleeding obvious.
Hurray!
