Anyone else see the Google street view car?

Noticed it cruising down London Circuit at 1:50pm. Didn’t get a chance to make a rude or funny gesture.

It was a black / dark coloured hatch with the array of cameras on top. I think it had Google stickers on it.

Anyone else see it?

Monday morning around 10.15am turning left from Sydney Ave into National Circuit Forrest. It took the corner in a hurry – which surprised me.

It was on Mildura St, Fyshwick giving way at the Wentworth Ave intersection about an hour ago – ish.

Driver was wearing a bright pink t-shirt.

I got my chance to make a rude gesture and then i spent the next fifteen minutes thinking that it was possibly not the smartest move as it was out the front of a Govt Department.

It was parked yesterday at Marchant Circuit in Dunlop…

More importantly, did anyone take photos of it?

Saw it twice.

First on the Hume Hwy at Towrang Road, Towrang a couple of weeks ago.

Second on Kelleway Av in Nicholls, across from the senior school coming out of the apartmet complex.

Saw it this morning driving down Haydon Drive Bruce

From their prospective were down under, hence the upside-down logo.

I’ve always wondered about that… when I’m standing on the earth up to me is in the sky and down is where my feet are or where things fall when you drop them.

Why then is Australia “down” and America “up”? I certainly don’t look to the heavens when I think of yanks!

including one who fell off in full view of the cameras. It might to be funny to check of Gilmore’s roads when the maps get updated…

Will do. They might blur it out though because they showed a kid falling off his bike and got in trouble for it last time… apparently.

I saw it on Belconnen Way comming out of Shumack Street in Weetangerra.

Saw it at the intersection of Drakeford Dr and Athllon Drive in Tuggeranong on Wed Morning.

Got a piccie of it.

The Google logo on the door is upside down for some reason.

Maybe it’s because they thought it would help us read it here down in the southern hemisphere.

Some children chased it around the entire suburb of Gilmore on their bikes, including one who fell off in full view of the cameras. It might to be funny to check of Gilmore’s roads when the maps get updated…

I thought I saw it in Chisholm on Tuesday morning. Was catching the bus to work and feeling fairly average. I spun my head around to confirm what I thought I saw but it was gone. It looked like a little black car with a really big bike on the roof. I think 😉

Slightly OT.

Was able to prove to Mrs Cranky that she hadn’t been exceeding the speed limit this afternoon, by cruising past a speed van at 80k’s. The limit had changed from 60 to 80 about 200 metres previously. And Google photos proved it.

Saw it in Palmerston a couple of days ago. Little black hatchbacky kind of car.

There was a Google sticker on the side of the car btw, it was quite small.

It drove through Fairbairn yesterday.

I saw it today (12/12/09) at 1pm in Fyshwick. It was driving past The Canberra Times building. It would have gotten a clear shot of me and my boy in my car. Yay. 🙂

Saw it parked at the Commonwealth Bank in Fyshwick today. I managed to get a good look at it. It has 8 cameras on the top and then four other cameras below it that look like they scan up and down or something. The Google logo on the door is upside down for some reason.

I saw it on William Hovell Drive this morning. Are you sure it’s google? I’ve heard that other companies are doing the same thing for their GPS units.

Saw it a week or two ago near Jamison, from memory I didn’t see any google stickers on it (but I didn’t get such a good look from the side) and it had NSW plates.

It was driving around Isabella Plains on Tuesday, I was visiting a friends house and the car came flying around the corner and was gone before it registered what exactly it was.

Have seen it twice this last week. Calwell and Banks

Saw it the other day coming down William Hovell from the Higgins end. Kind of a spooky looking machine. Probably doing West Macgregor. Just wonder if it is a Canberra based vehicle, or maybe it is Sydney based, sent to the outback from time to time.

I saw it on Hindmarsh, near the golf course, on Wednesday.
I was too slow to gesture as well.
