Ask RiotACT

Hi Rioters.

Can anyone recommend a joiner/carpenter to make sliding doors for an old (probably non-standard) wardrobe opening please.

Many thanks.

I bought an 1990s house about four years ago and every room had built-ins with rather unwieldy wooden sliding doors. I grew to hate them. One by one they have been changed over to light panelled doors or mirrored doors by Regency. The bedrooms are much lighter and even my initially spooked cat has got used to seeing herself in the mirror. I can’t fault their workmanship, nor their price! Wooden doors will be much more expensive. Obligation free quote and they have a showroom in Fyshwick.

Hi – i looked into this last year and most carpenters i spoke to weren’t able to do this. Let me know if you find someone to do this though. I think there was a company in Queanbeyan that could possibly make sliding doors to measure… i think the price was high though.

http://www.regencyscreens.com.au these guys did some custom silding doors for a wardrobe in our old house after we renovated the room and removed the old swinging doors. Did a good job.
