Atomic Art at The Front

I was waiting for a pide in Lyneham last night.

So I stepped into The Front for a quick beer and checked out the Atomic Art exhibition of prints by local artist David Mankey.

The official opening is tonight but it was all hung last night.

My first reaction was “print geometry, BORING”.

But, but, it’s really quite subtle. By the time we’d walking around all of them, and talked about what we could see going on in them, some of the earlier ones we’d passed up started telling their stories.

It’s a little bit like those old magic eye posters (not quite as mind-bending and no Romulan spaceships – that I could find anyway).

It’s running to 18 August and is something a little bit different if you’re in the area.

If only all the galleries served their art with Cooper’s Pale and a pizza to go (pizza from nearby takeaway).
