They live among us disguised as mums, scientists, students, hairdressers and public servants. They appear to be normal loving wives and girlfriends, daughters and sisters. And yet, the females of the species have undergone a creeping transformation. They have discovered a lust for speed; they have grown larger and stronger; they have become giants of the flat track!
Be prepared for the:
Attack of the Flat Track Women!
United in their hunger for victory, they are taking to the track to battle for the 2012 Canberra Roller Derby League Premiership. With lust for vengeance these vixens will give you something to scream about!
This season has been an incredibly exciting one for CRDL with the teams fighting it out for their positions on the ladder. The Black’n’Blue Belles had cemented their position as season premiers by September but the games prior to that had been so close that it wasn’t until the final play off between the Surly Griffins and the Brindabelters last month that positions in the grand final were solidified. The point differentials mean that the Red Bellied Black Hearts make it through to position two on the ladder and will face off with the Black’n’Blue Belles in a gripping rematch of last year’s final.
The end of the year is heating up with derby fever, so get in now to ensure your place on the suicide line for a huge night of derby action. In the Grand Final Double Header you’ll have the chance to see all four of Canberra Roller Derby League’s local teams at the top of their game.
2012 has been a huge year for the CRDL. The skaters have hit the track with an increased level of skill and intensity over the course of the season. Audiences will be rewarded with cunning strategy, super agile dodging and weaving, and smart, strong blocking.
Join us to celebrate another amazing year of derby in Canberra!
