Kangaroo Cull – Woolworths, isle 4

By 5 March 2012

According to a recent decision by Woolworths head office, no one in Australia eats Kanga Bangas.. so there is no longer any point putting them on the shelves.
Because of this decision, I have had a whinge at the Woolworths butcher, posted a rant on the Woolworths complaints page.. and even considered calling the Today Tonight [...]

Astroturfing underway at the Phillip Pitch ‘n’ Putt site

By 30 September 2011

I saw this letter posted at the Southern Cross club one morning last week when enquiring about a 10 day trial (get in shape for summer and all of that).
I would have read it and gone on about my business if it wasn’t for these two sentences:
“… and possibly some other services to help secure [...]

We can do it in one go! The quest continues.

By 2 May 2011

During a progress inspection of the ongoing ‘asbestos wasteland’ to ‘urban paradise’ transformation in Molongolo on the weekend I was lucky enough to witness this amazing use of a standard sized box trailer.

Does anyone know anywhere locally in Canberra that regularly show the UFC events live?
So far I have only found ‘The Australian’, but haven’t yet confirmed if [...]

Learning Danish (language, not pastry) in Canberra

By 28 September 2010

After a recent trip to Denmark I thought I would take up learning the Danish language as a hobby.. and because you can’t get a job at Legoland unless you speak Danish.
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find anywhere in Canberra that teaches it!
I called up CIT looking for short courses and Danish isn’t available.. [...]

Roof reconditioning that doesn’t suck?

By 7 August 2010

For about 12 months now I have been considering having the roof of my place ‘reconditioned’. It has previously had the ridge capping etc. redone and is functionally perfect.. but aesthetically it’s coloured concrete tiles are fading to white.
I am wondering if anyone has had their roof repainted / reconditioned by a local company that [...]
