About norvan

i was born in Canberra to Dutch migrants, I have lived and worked in the Canberra region for most of his life.I graduated from Dickson College in 1996 and the Canberra Institute of Technology in 2001. I have served on many local boards, including Volunteering ACT and ministerial advisory councils such as the Defence Reserves Support Council.

I have spent four years working on community development projects, for the United Nations, AusAID and the World Bank, in Australia, Vanuatu, the Netherlands, Germany, Japan, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Papua New Guinea. I joined Second Queanbeyan Scout group in 1986 and holds the Baden-Powell Award. I co-founded a local software development company, served three years in the Australian Army Reserve and presented a white paper on youth volunteering to the United Nations International Symposium on Volunteering.

Currently, I work for a Canberra-based research and development company as an IT Manager and also studies part-time for a Masters Degree at the University of NSW.
