It’s pretty bad that the complete dental records for a couple of guys was thrown in the paper recycling skip – the x-rays aren’t paper and shouldn’t be there.
I edited out names and numbers, inside the folders are the guy’s dental records in full and gross detail.
Woden town centre at midday today. The saturated green of the trees. The acres of concrete since the pool was filled in.The metal sculpture that probably symbolises something profound although it’s not my thing. The vermin defacing it that didn’t think that someone might be taking a happy snap of their doings in broad daylight.
Mother Groper was poking around the second hand filing cabinets at Mugga Lane and discovered Westpac hadn’t bothered to check if the office furniture they were discarding was empty.
It’s not difficult to check if the furniture you’re discarding is empty or not, and as an organisation dealing with sensitive information a bank should have procedures [...]
I thought of the Riot when I saw this happen in front of me on the weekend on Northbourne.
What other readership/viewership could appreciate the multiple themes of red light running, cyclists and almost carnage?
Clip taken with the Aldi dash cam.
Comparing it with other clips I think my next dash cam won’t be [...]
I found these dumped medical records in the paper recycling cage at Woden. There are records from several people there so it seems unlikely an individual decided to dump their medical records.
There are receipts that show credit card numbers, details of medical treatments and of course names and addresses. The photo is of just a [...]
Tuggeranong people park pretty perfectly.
This car is perhaps a tad to the rear of the allocated rectangle, but isn’t parked over a line.

Spotted at Dickson shopping centre on Sunday arvo, a superb example of resourcefulness from a couple who decided to cut out the middleman of the charity shop and do their shopping from the charity bin itself.
And, of course, not pay for it.

I know it’s a faint hope, but it looks like I forgot a bag of books when I unpacked them from the car this afternoon after returning from several hours happy wandering around the tables of the Lifeline Book fair. I must have idiotically left them in view from the street and they were duly [...]
That crapulous memorial to failure is being cleaned off the wall behind the bus timetables right now, I noticed the cleaners setting up to do their stuff as I walked past around 9am today.
It had been pretty much abandoned for the last few weeks, so I really doubt the kiddies who were so vocal about [...]
Although its ghost lingered on in the form of a circle of barriers long after the roundabout itself had been removed, even the ghost is now gone.
A shiny new set of traffic lights are now controling the intersection of Picturesque Pialligo and boy does it feel strange approaching it at speed when habit demands [...]
Spotted on the weekend, graffiti tucked away into the side of the building that holds Woden Library and the government shopfront. I like the quirkiness.

Tonight’s episode of Stateline had a feature on Snow’s airport empire, featuring a line-up of everyone who has a grudge against it, as the narrater stated “the relationship between the airport and community groups fluctuates between ordinary and awful”. The current spokesman said a complete rebuilding of the existing terminal was to be carried out within five years, hope [...]
This afternoon the BOM issued an early warning for tomorrow (today), with a “Warning for possible flooding with local heavy rainfall later tomorrow.” Its predicting rainfall of over 25mm.
So – are the ants building an ark yet? Inquiring minds want to know.
[ED - That ant nest appears to be defunct, I'll let you know if they rise [...]
The Canbera airport has sent out an email announcing they’re looking for feedback from the workers at its business parks. To register for this independant and unbiased venue for feedback you have to answer a few questions, including how satisfied/dissatisfied you are with working at the Canberra airport precinct, and why you have that opinion.
I may [...]
The last Stateline programme had a segment on replacing street trees.
The beautiful older streets with a green canopy overhead will be chopped down when the healthy trees are deemed to have reached their safe life limit,
The transcript’s here.
The beautiful older streets with a green canopy overhead will be a lot more open and hotter in Summer [...]
There’s an armful of framed prints in the skip at the base of what used to be the MLC building. Looks like the guys who tossed them in made sure the glass was cracked on each one, but the frames and prints themselves are in good condition. They’re of native birds and landscapes mostly with [...]
