ACT Policing has arrested two 15-year-old females after a disturbance at Lyneham High School this morning [Thursday].

About 11.20am, police were required to attend the school after reports of two females who were unlawfully on the premises assaulting staff in an attempt to assault another female.

During the arrests a police officer was assaulted by one of the juveniles.

Police are seeking any students who may have witnessed, or recorded the assault on their mobile telephone to contact police on 131 444.

Both females have been charged with aggravated robbery and numerous other offences and will face the ACT Childrens Court at a later date.

Naughty girls!

No supper for you tonight!

If they get locked up, they’ll not only get supper, but free place to stay and 2 other free meals too. Not to mention a TV bigger than they have at home and internet access so they can go brag to their BFF’s on facebook about how cool they were to punch a teacher.

a few weeks later a male (not a student, he was about 21) was beaten pretty badly with his own baseball bat during lunch time on the basketball courts by 2 older brothers of (if i remember rightly) the girl bashed a few weeks previous .

Well playing baseball on the basketball courts, what did he expect?

ahh….good old lyneham high…..nothing has changed since i went there in the 80’s

Note that the girls in question are not current Lyneham High students, I have kids at Lyneham and I can tell you this is a very rare occurrance.

Lyneham high definately seems to be going back to (from what ive heard) the old days again, in my time there a couple of years ago, the first 2/3 years nothing really happened, but in my final year a yr7 girl got bashed outside school in the morning buy 2 older males and a female of a similar age to her over some name calling, a few weeks later a male (not a student, he was about 21) was beaten pretty badly with his own baseball bat during lunch time on the basketball courts by 2 older brothers of (if i remember rightly) the girl bashed a few weeks previous (also not students also in their 20’s) because the first guy had shown up at the school with a baseball bat looking for the girl (seems abit over the top, but ok), luckily enough she managed to call her brothers and they were there in about 2 minutes and were gone within about another 2 (stole his baseball bat too, fairs fair i guess) and these just being a few more major things, not even going into the saga of the girl whos nose was broken after another girl opened a locker into her face and the feud resulting from that or the day 6/7 ‘gangsta’ kids were kicking in toilet stall doors in the boys bathroom one lunchtime which ended in the lead door kicker having a screwdriver held to his face, or how the same crew were involved in a mate of mine losing 2 teeth in the middle of Civic one afternoon over a robbery backfiring on them.

Oh and last but not least, there was the day 4 late teens ‘FOBS’ showed up with trolley poles to ‘pick up b*tches’ as they said whilst they hung around the canteen for a while until some of the yr10 boys (including a few ‘kaleen boys’) noticed and ran them out only to have them pull out their trolley poles and start properly arcing up on the little bridge across the storm drains on the oval, thankfully one of the maths teachers (Mr Budd, great dude) pulled the students back and confronted them himself and shortly had thrown the main aggressors trolley pole into the drain and forced them off.

Sorry, once again ive started rambling, my point being is that it seems what was for a good while there a fairly peaceful school with a good track record for music, sport, art, etc has started slipping into the ranks of so many other schools that have become notorious for violence and delinquancy over academic achievement.
