Andrew Barr is letting us know about his plans to build build build:

Today I released the 2013-14 Update of the ACT Government Infrastructure Plan detailing the continued significant investment being made in a range of major infrastructure developments as we move into our second century.

The Infrastructure Plan Update provides an overview of key infrastructure projects that the ACT Government has funded through the 2013-14 Budget or is considering for funding over the next decade.

As well as informing the community, the Plan is intended to advise the construction industry and other relevant business sectors of a continuing pipeline of projects.

Transformational projects, such as Capital Metro and the City to the Lake project including new convention facilities and stadium, are in response to the increasing demand for high quality infrastructure from both a growing population and an increasingly diversified private sector.

This investment will be a significant boost to our construction industry and the associated generation of new jobs will greatly enhance our economy.

Shouldn’t this be called Barr’s infrastructure sell off?

Getting rid of some old stock (Mac House comes to mind), might not be bad, but a long list like that is reminiscent of the great sell-off under Kate Carnell. And for what? The hope of money from the (Commonwealth) sky as part of a policy that has no guarantee of lasting long enough to dish out the money, let alone to this ultra safe-seat jurisdiction.

My bad: I misread this for Barr’s other infrastructure plans: ACT government to draw up list of properties for privatisation

Let’s hope the “Infrastructure PM” sends some money in our direction for this (no, not holding breath).
