Want to transform Belconnen Arts Centre into the creative hub of North West Canberra?

The Belconnen Arts Centre has received funding of $8000 from Creative Partnerships Australia, which is dependent on Belconnen Arts Centre separately raising $8000. Essentially every donation you make as part of this Pozible campaign will be doubled.

If you donate ten dollars – that will be matched with another ten (up to a maximum of $8000).

More details at the link here.

All donations above $2 are tax deductible.

Everyone who contributes – no matter the amount – will be invited to a thank you party on 11 June.

I’m pretty sure Pozible will trouser 10 per cent of the funds raised …

That is wrong, if 8,000 dollars is raised, then it will be matched dollar for dollar.

I am receptive to contributing if you can assure me that 100% of the money raised will be used to improve car parking at the centre.
Last time I went to a performance there I had to push a wheelchair 500 metres each way because all parking was gone (including the ones for disable permit holders) well before the start.

The BAC has its own carpark with disabled spaces.

Parking is a perennial issue all around the Belconnen Town Centre, and especially along Emu Bank. There is a bus stop directly opposite the BAC. You could use that. That way you could simply step off and walk fifty feet.

I hope they aren’t purely relying on Pozible to raise the “match” funds. Looks as though they should be dipping some pound cake in chocolate icing and coconut as well!

This campaign closes on 29 May.
