It’s the perfect time of year to enjoy a pleasant stroll around Aranda with native flora in full bloom. We’ve just researched this easy walk taking just over an hour through Aranda’s pretty parks featuring stunning native flower displays.

The walk starts and ends at the old Aranda shops site, now occupied by the dog friendly Two Before Ten cafe, open every day and serving great coffee.

It takes a circular route through a series of interconnecting parks, including the extensive dog off leash Aranda District Playing Fields, another dog off leash park running through the middle of the suburb, and the Aranda Bushlands nature park (dogs allowed on leash only).

There are very fine views over southern Canberra about half-way through, and plenty of opportunities to gawk at Canberra suburban architecture fashionable in the late ’60s/70s (think flat roofs, besser blocks and fern courtyards).

Free walking directions with links to a google map illustrating the route are at Canberra Dog Walks. Enjoy!
