Rioters
I am looking to have a pair of boots resoled and heeled. Expensive boots (not fashion, not high heeled, just boots) and I would like to find a decent quality bootmaker.
I have used some of the franchise type on other boots and found them expensive and lacking in quality to say the very least (aka: boots fell apart after the resole because of the ineptitude of the person who soled them).
Any recomendations?
I’ve got some high-end hiking boots (Rossi) and some John Bull work boots both of whose soles have rotted and detached (I don’t think they liked herbicide), and i’m planning to take them to Joe’s Boots at kingo when I stop procrastinating (and clean the spiders out of them).
I imagine and hope it’s still the case that Joe’s has an actual shoemaker in residence who knows how to build footwear, and thus is better at repairing it. I’ve had some dress shoes to them in the past for fairly tricky repairs (one to stop them squeaking which necessitated taking the shoes apart) and they did a good job.

Maybe try Joe’s Boots. Kingston, I believe.
I would use Manuka Cobbler who is located in Fyshwick these days. He can make you any type of show from scratch and knows his stuff.
Have a chat with the bloke who owns the shoe repair shop on City Walk under the stairs not far from where the old Boulevard cinemas used to be. He did a great job on a pair of Lloyd shoes of mine.
Manuka Cobbler is a fine shoe maker but I’m pretty sure he doesn’t do repairs. For the record, he’s on Wollongong St, in the bit where Capital Steering is.
EvanJames mentioned Rossi. They do a very good factory resole. Or did the last time I checked.
You could perhaps try Jhay the cobbler at Dickson.
The shop in Baileys Arcade – been doing my shoes for about 20 years and has been there for longer than that

But you’d have to send them to Melbourne or somewhere? The whole sole just detached, but I suspect it was due to my wearing them when spraying herbicide, bad idea in hindsight.
