I realise that by law they all have to close at 12pm during the week and 10pm on sundays, but does anyone know any that are actually open that late? None seem to open past 11.
I’ve checked BWS, 1st Choice, Bottle-o and the drive through in Kingston.
Bottle shops are required by law to close at 11pm in the ACT, hence why you won’t see any open after that time. Most won’t even open until that time as it isn’t cost effective to do so, there may be a handful around that stay open to 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights.
Coles in Chisholm has their liquor in an aisle, which is open until 11pm every night with the rest of the store. Other similarly setup supermarkets might be the same.
As everyone’s mentioned, they’re all pretty much done by 11pm, sometimes 10pm on Sundays. Why don’t you just stock up and keep a decent supply around the house?
It’s cheaper to buy a few cases of beer/wine etc at a time, or buy direct from wineries or suppliers. Then you never have to worry about running out. There’s nothing more comforting I feel than a well stocked cellar and beer fridge.

If you’re one of the people who can actually moderate their alcohol usage. I know plenty or people who will drink considerably more when they have it at home. And some that will not stop drinking until it’s all gone. (I buy my wine online by the dozen – good wine for a cheap price and delivered to my door.)
Canberra Cellars (Botte-O) currently have two stores open until 11pm, 7 days a week at Lonsdale St Braddon, and Luxton St Belconnen and are about to open their third store at O’hanlon Place, Gold Creek, next to Maccas.
Ummm, I think you will find that in the ACT you can’t sell take away booze after 11pm. I don’t know of there is any special rule for Sundays.
NSW allows take away til 12 midnight, which could be why you think that.
Standard licensed times for venues selling liquor to be consumed off the premises are 7am-11pm. I don’t think Sunday is any different.

By they way, 12pm is midday.
The law is no takeaway booze after 11pm, so thats why there all closed at 11

Dina’s Liquor and Quick and Go. Both in civic.
I’d probably take a punt that supabarn would also sell up until 11.
Coles in Woden has the liquor section down an aisle and that’s open til 12.

Ah yeah I guess I’ve only been there before 11 when only one ends shut off. I knew I’d been there after most everything else was shut though.

The drive through bottle-o in Curtin is open until 11. Saved me many times!
