Noice, always wanted to camp at Brayshaws. We drove past there one day & a bloke was playing his guitar on the verandah. Looked awesome.

Yes. I’ll agree to it being a great shot.
I especially like that I’m suspicious of a little HDR, but can’t be sure.
That’s the way it should be, where the detail is subtly lifted, rather than the full HDR that makes photos garishly unrealistic. While that appeals to some people, it turns me right off.

This shot has it pretty much nailed.

Yeah DI…three shots of -1, 0 and +1 blended in Photomtix to what the program works out and then tweaked, if necessary (crop, sharpness) in PS. The intense blue of the sky is a result of the characteristics of the Siggy 10-20 wide open and with the sun over my right shoulder.

Awesome shot!

Regarding whether it’s HRD or not, if it is then it’s been done superbly. HDR often comes out looking cartoonish. This looks vibrant and life like, very vivid yet natural colours.

Just stunning! Reminds me of travelling round with my Pop who worked on the forestry years ago. Putting this on my “to see” list.

Its pretty easy to get to Violet, head south from Tharwa on the Bobyan Rd & if your car does not fall to pieces from the appalling state of the road you will drive straight past it. Its great that one of the most accessable huts is still in great condition.
