Brown water in Woden and Weston

Customers in the Weston Creek and Woden areas are advised to expect potential discolouration to their drinking water supplies following a burst to the inlet main serving a number of reservoirs in the area.

A number of suburbs including Fisher, Waramanga, Chapman, Stirling, Lyons, Torrens, Mawson, Farrer, Phillips, Garran and Hughes are likely to be affected. High-lying areas of these suburbs may also experience reduced water pressure.

ACTEW engineers have been on site since early this morning to undertake complicated repairs to this large water pipe. Repairs have been made more difficult by the presence of other utility infrastructure in the area.

Please find attached an ACTEW Water Media Release with further information.

Where’s the further information mentioned in the last line please? I looked at ACTEW’s website and could only find something about Bonner yesterday, their Twitter account was even less help. I am not in one of the suburbs listed but I just took a load of white towels out and was puzzled by the shadow of a stain I don’t even remember in the first one, when the next one had shadowy streaks too I immediately figured it was the water, and then I read this.
Sorry for the Woden/Weston peeps, we had a big valve break years ago and the water was brown for ages. 🙁
