And so Digress on Akuna Street (formerly the Akuna Club) had a hitout as a live music venue.
With a very strong lineup supporting the launch of the popular singer-songwriter Bryony Aziz a good crowd was always on the cards.
The venue, however, has some bugs to iron out as a music venue. Not least of which was the diners in for the very professional Indian and Italian cuisine (unusual mixes seems to be Digress’s thing).
The bar staff took a while getting their groove on to deal with the large crowd which lead to, *gasp*, lengthy queues for drinks.
But with $10 securing entry and the EP a worthwhile night.

Dining At Digress
A group of us recently dined here. Whilst the cuisine was “interesting” the seating was somewhat more than cosy. The music did make it somewhat tricky to have a conversation over dinner.
An “EP” launch? Really? In this day and age? 12″ extended trance remix?
More songs than a single, less than a full album. Common usage for a $5 disk with five or so songs.
Fair enough, I thought I was having flashbacks there for a minute JB!
