Buddy rocks!

It would be pretty hard not to be crazed with Supa Production’s latest production – The Buddy Holly Story. The rock ‘n’ roll numbers are truly electrifying and are enough to sell the show out.

Dave Edwards who plays Buddy is outstanding and is proof once again of the amazing talent that we have in Canberra. The support cast is also a magic mix.

Adrian Flor as Ritchie Valens and Jeremy Brown as The Big Bopper were also standouts.

The show also brings together a ‘dream’ production team – Stephen Pike (director), Garrick Smith (musical director) and Jacqui Richards (Choreographer).

The opening night audience were left thrilled by the energised show – screaming for more!

If there was any down point – it was the venue. The ANU Arts Centre is a dive.

If you get a chance, take in dinner at ‘Teatro Vivaldi’ prior to the show – terrific food and a great theatre environment.

I noted MLA’s Richard Mulcahy, Mary Porter, Vicki Dunn were in attendance. When will the ACT Government invest more in our local theatre?

We need better facilities that are rented out to theatre groups at a reasonable rent to our non-profit theatre groups.
