Burst water main gums up Barry Drive

Territory and Municipal Services are warning that this morning’s commute into Civic from the West might be trickier than usual:

The ACT Government wishes to advise motorists and other road users that due to a burst water main on Barry Drive, city bound traffic are unable to turn right onto Marcus Clarke Street. Warning signs have been erected to alert people of the closure. Please use alternative routes where possible.

Update: Burst water main on Barry Drive

— One turning lane in use from Barry Drive onto Marcus Clarke Street citybound.
— Traffic headed from the City toward Belconnen has been reduced to one lane through the interesection of Barry Drive and Marcus Clarke Street.

These arrangements will remain in place until further notice.

Motorists and other road uses are encouraged to use alternative routes where possible.

UPDATE 29/08/12 09:34: Actew Water advise neighbouring buildings should have their water back before noon.
